Crossing Point

Crossing Point

The brand identity for Crossing Point is a beautifully simple design that eloquently captures a pivotal aspect of its namesake's history. The location where the grapes now grow is the very site of the original crossing point for Maori tribes across the Waikato River.

A long time ago, this spot was considered the narrowest point, where fallen trees or old canoes were ingeniously used as makeshift footbridges. This 'slight and rather perilous bridge,' as described in 1842, serves as a powerful symbol of the region's rich heritage. We drew inspiration from this historic journey, incorporating elements of the Maori tribes' experience into the wine label's hieroglyphic-style design, allowing it to visually narrate the captivating story.
